Women's gold from WSC 08 to Scotland.

The Muirhead, Barr tandem eventually led the Scottish women to the top step. The match had a turning point in the sixth end when the Scots played a six against their opponent's advantage at 11-2 and the remaining ends were a formality. The replacement of the Adams sisters proved to be a good move by Coach Hannen. The extra session was played very solidly by senior Kay. Kerry Barr thus turned her last start in the junior category into gold and was a visible support for the young skip Muirhead, who is however world champion for the second time in a row. The Russians could not hold on to their 5-0 lead after three ends and handed the bronze to the lacklustre Canadians. Three members of the Russian team are flying straight from Sweden to Canada for the World Championships, where they will face, among others, Katerina Urbanova's team.
