Sweden-China was the first match to finish. Errors by skip Kraupp and overall inaccurate play by the North Koreans led to a quick decision. It was expected that the Germans could "embarrass" the Canadians, but in the end it was a clear concert of the Canadian five. Yes five, indeed, substitute Enright came on and earned the applause of the stands for his practice slide alone. The France-Australia duel was perhaps decided by a timeout in which Palangio found himself facing the last stone with which to send the Aussies into the extra end. Apart from Dufour, Frederiksen (Danish skip) also scored a win over the very unconvincing Swiss. Father and son Morris have been a very successful family at this World Championships so far, albeit each in different colours. Earle Morris, who formerly coached son John on his very successful team with Brent Laing and Craig Saville, is in Grand Forks coaching the opposing team, leading a squad that shares second place with five other teams just behind Canada, where his son plays the number three. The Czechs will face Canada tomorrow starting at two local time. Hopefully the WCF general meeting will be over by then!
