Czech Academic Curling Championships

The last weekend of March was dedicated to academics - curlers. The championship was attended by a total of 19 participants. In its conception, Saturday and Sunday were dedicated to a preparatory camp and ten-end matches in both main categories. After the regular round, Zbraslav D was in the lead in the women's category and Aritma in the men's category. The Sunday afternoon final confirmed the dominance of Zbraslav D (Klímová, Mosová, Nadherová, Kučerová, Illková), but in the men's the Zbraslav players (Paul, Mokris, Okénka, Reitmajer) had a better finish than Aritma and the gold medals in both categories go to Zbraslav. The mixed doubles matches had one pearl, namely the six, which was given to the opponents by the tandem Havlicek, Novák (Zlatá Praha). The championship confirmed the good level of academic curling in the Czech Republic, and despite a few excuses, it met expectations with the participation and commitment of individual players.
