The Czech women's curling team failed in an important match against England. The game was played from nine o'clock and was decided in the second half. The Swedes, the Dutch and the Russians lost. Let's keep our fingers crossed for our team tonight against the Italians, who surprisingly beat the Scots with a four in the last end. The men are now up against the Swiss and a win could ensure a much more peaceful end to the championship than last year. We could advance to the World Championships without the so-called Challenge Games from seventh place or better. The European Curling Federation held an election meeting and as well as having a new president, Andrew Ferguson Smith, we have representatives on the executive. The ECF executive committee members are from Scotland, Russia and the Czech Republic.
