Aritma 1 is Czech champion in mixed doubles
The three-day tournament of twenty pairs for the title of Czech mixed doubles curling champion ended on Sunday. The semi-finals were contested by the teams of Aritma 1 and Trutnov, and on the sidelines Kolibris and Ledoborci. After a very balanced course of both matches, Ledoborci Jiří Marša and Hana Čechová and Aritma 1 team Karel Kubeška and Anna Kubešková made it to the final. Aritma was a slight favourite, among other things because last year they lost in the same competition in the final but it was obvious that the final would be an exciting battle. The course was very even and after six ends the Icebreakers were only one stone behind. However, in the seventh end a three for the leading team came and then the pair from Aritma did not miss the title. The winners will represent the Czech Republic at the 2009 World Mixed Doubles Championships in Cortina, Italy.
