quite a few stones in circles (fifteen and one guard)! The lunch break, after losing to Korea, was spent partly on lunch (wings, salads, etc), and partly on a game presented by Bětka, in which we all competed for second place, right behind Bětka. We arrived early to the hall, where we met again our fans from Astorville and another family, who came with the Czech flag and dressed also in our national jersey. We started the game with a convincing LSD and then an advantage in the first end. We were the slightly better team in the first end, even though we went into the break with the score tied 3 : 3. In the sixth end we had the advantage and the real carnage began, which resembled mixed doubles, but played with more stones and more players. It was a bit messy from the bench, but in the end, as the photo proves, the four red (Czech) stones were better in the circles, and we scored four points and went on a tear. Our opponent played a forced one back and in the next, on our attempt to hit for two, eventually scored a measured one. But in the ninth, after errors by the Chinese, we scored three and the game was over. A 10 : 5 win is nice and even the evening practice, which is always an obligatory and not very pleasant end to a busy day for the coach and some of the players, was in a more relaxed spirit. Tomorrow morning Scotland and then Italy.
