Basel 2024. WCT.
The September tournament included in the women's part of the WCT series, played in Basel, Switzerland, is attended this year by the Czech national team led by skip Zelingrova and currently the second team from the domestic competition (skip Synáčková). The programme of the national team promises balanced competitions with the current wider European top. On Friday Aneta, Karolína, Michaela and Alžběta will first compete against two Swiss teams Heinimann and Schwaller and on Saturday the Italians (Constantini) are on the agenda. The Swiss (Héritier) will finish the group fights in the third place. Today, after an eight-hour journey, the Czech foursome scheduled a training session for which they rented a lane in the lower part of the curling complex. Knowing that the ice speed and spin rate in the so-called "pool" (three curling lanes built by adapting a former swimming pool originally located on the zero floor of the building) is different from the conditions that will be available tomorrow on the main five-lane track, the curlers put their sports equipment in the locker room and walked back to the hotel. The tournament starts tomorrow.
