Brauchli, Carson.

Our opponent for the semi-finals, the Swiss team Brauchli, emerged from Saturday's qualifying matches. We came under a bit of pressure in the opening ends, but managed to turn the tide and were up by a promising two points after six ends. The Swiss played a one in the seventh and a battle ensued in the eighth, in which we had no way of playing a one with the last stone in a circle crowded with stones around the centre. Level. A shoot-out followed in which we were about five inches further from the tee than our opponent. The Swiss were happy - we were disappointed because it was so damn close. But twenty-five minutes later, we have to play again. Opposite us is Scotland's Carson with the same fate, he also lost on a shoot-out. We pull for a while, but then our opponent bounces back. After seven ends we end the game, take part in a short ceremony and head home.

A nice junior tournament with some surprising moments. We take away a bunch of learnings, more experience and the knowledge that we need to improve a few things. Thanks to Ondra Bodlak for great team service during the tournament. And also to the guys - David, Kryštof, Ondra and Vitek for representing Czech curling well.
