The Brits didn't beat the Swiss. The British lost to the Norwegians.

Mirjam Ott needed a win to head into the semifinals, but so did Muirhead. The Swiss had a great start to the tournament, but then the wheels came off. The Brits lost a well-played duel with Canada and the semifinals are also not certain. Eve struggled the whole match with an inturn that was around 50%. In the end, that was the umpire. She failed to guard in the eighth end, and although the following stone forced Ott to play only one, Mirjam controlled the end of the match and with a final hit and stay she played the necessary one with the advantage and scored the win. This morning's Norway-Britain match produced some good curling. Haavard Peterson played poorly, but not until the ninth end. Then he picked himself up and played two brilliant chips, which were finally enough to give the Norwegians the win. Murdoch paid the price for not reaching deuce in the fourth end, when Thomas Ulsrud saved his team with a more than 100 percent freeze. The semi will still be fought for. We were at the Czech Republic-Switzerland hockey game yesterday. Nice hall, good atmosphere, worse result. A great experience.
