Czechs crushed the Swedes at the European Curling Championships

The Czech national men's curling team (Snítil J., Kitzberger, Snítil M., Vydra, Uher and coach Frederiksen) added one more win (against the Irish) to their one victory so far, against Sweden, which means that after today the Czechs are tied with the Swedes for seventh place. Already the confident defensive start indicated an improvement in the performance of our team, the change in the position of the player throwing the last stones (Martin instead of Jirka) also visibly benefited, and so combined with the inaccurate play of the Swedish team led by skip Mathias Mabergs, it was over after nine ends. The Czechs played well tactically and deserved the win. It is worth mentioning the brave performance of the Spaniards, who resisted the Norwegians until the very end, but the last end in a balanced situation without an advantage was not handled especially by skip De Mollinedo, and so the Norwegians continue with only one loss (from the Germans). The Czech girls will probably have a crucial day tomorrow. So far the women are without a win and need at least one tomorrow. Ornskoldsvik, is the almost unpronounceable name of the place where this year's European Curling Championships are being played. There are virtually no spectators, it's still dark at nine in the morning and dark at two in the afternoon. Nice people, nice hall - at least the A-room. There are important meetings tomorrow, so I hope to see at least a bit of curling. The picture shows the hall where the game is played - in the dark, of course.
