The Czechs have three wins already.

Last night's game against Canada was accompanied by a lot of respect from the Czech team towards the famous opponent. It is fair to say that it was justified. So far, Stoughton's team is putting on a curling concert of nine perfect sentences. Canada took a comfortable lead relatively quickly and eased up a bit in concentration. The Czechs took excellent advantage of this and after a two and a one without advantage, pulled the lead down to a single stone. But then a precise split on two put the Maple Leaf representatives ahead again and they were in control of the end of the match. The evening with the Swedes (skip Edin) moved end by end and no one was able to escape their opponents by more than one. In the ninth we were level at one and the Swedes went into the tenth end with the advantage. Two accurate chips and flawless defending resulted in our final draw to the front of the ring. Edin wasn't confident on the draw, so he opted for a hit and roll, which looked good until something small on the lane seemed to deflect a stone out of its trajectory, just enough to cause the stones to make contact and both went out of the rings. Extraend! Only one chip this time and then the same song. Before our last stone we have one in the front circles slightly off the centre line. Inspired by Ch. Schwaller from the match with Switzerland, we play a comearound, and it works perfectly. Edin doesn't think too much and shows a double take out. I'm sitting in the stands with Merv Fonger and we're thinking Niklas is not throwing it. The stone is a little bit out, so after the impact, one of our stones stays in the rings better than the opponent's and we have a Swedish scalp!! A valuable win that leaves us in a hopeful game for eighth place and possibly better. The Brandt Arena applauds the Czechs and Peter Lindholm gives me a thumbs up in recognition. I send this gesture of appreciation to the Czech team for good luck. I'm leaving in the morning myself, and so that's the end of my news. Apparently for the rest of the season. But until the last matches (Germany and Denmark) I wish you good luck!
