rnCanadian sports channel TSN, which broadcasts a number of curling matches throughout the year, offered live coverage of the Czech Republic-Canada match this afternoon. Our team was not the favourite, but the commentator John Turnbull had a lot of information about our players, and even though he struggled a bit with the pronunciation of Czech names, the performance of Jiri Snitil's team sounded very good. The good impression was underscored by a successful hit and roll for a deuce in the fourth end. However, the Canadians were in control of the match. Not that everything worked out for them. Kevin Martin didn't finish on three in the first end and his other teammates also had some inaccuracies, but overall after seven ends 4 : 10. The Chinese were reaching for the first win, but Skip Wang did not play the last stone and the Americans took the win. The French beat the Swiss with the last stone and the Japanese lost to the Scots. The duel between Germany and Canada was interesting. Played to the end, the Germans went into the last end two down with the advantage, but all the time it seemed to me that Kapp and his teammates had no chance. Let's see if there will be a weaker moment for the Canadians as well.
