photo - teams representing the Czech Republic at the European Championship 2016 after the ceremony
rnAfter an early training session and a search for motivation, we (men) took on Israel (full Canadian line-up) in the bronze medal match. So Group A has to wait another year, it's obvious that promotion from B is not a given for anyone, the Latvians or Hungarians could tell the story. Simultaneously, in the A hall, the women started their semi-final against the Swedes, televised by CT4. Our match was quite clear and fast-paced. We did most things well and scored points that led to a quick win. A short evaluation with Rickard right after the game and we went to watch the women. The women's semifinal was heavily influenced by the four Swedes in the first half (I didn't see that one), then despite our best efforts the Swedes controlled the flow. So the premiere in the European Championship playoffs ended with a loss for the team of Annika. From the result on the sideline came the opponent for the bronze medal game, namely the Skotek team. the girls had good chances for deuces on at least two occasions, but small stunts finally decided that the bronze eluded us. So the girls finish fourth, which is a great position in Europe. Anna, Terka, Bětka, Klára and Ežen are definitely the showcase of Czech curling now. Ladies, thank you for your efforts, which once again made Czech curling more visible. Thanks also to the coaches: Merv, Rickard and Brad. Tomas Egyházy, the leader of the team, was amazing again and we were also happy for the fans who came to support us (Ivana and Anna)
