Czech men are fifth in the European Championships so far.

After two wins and three losses, the Czech men's team is tied for fifth place. The last match between the Czech Republic and Germany so far was played on the furthest lane from the crowd, seated in the hall on only one longitudinal side. The outcome of the match was determined by the third end, in which the Germans (skip A. Kapp) scored a three and then by the fifth end, in which after the Czech attempt at a double clear the German stone was left in the rings. In the second half the Czechs put our western neighbours under pressure several times, but in the end it was just a dramatic ending in which the German skip had to play a hit and stay for the win. It's a pity about this game, because the Germans are not as good as ever this year, especially Uli Kapp is struggling. The women's aces are so far dominated by the Russians (five wins), the Scots are well behind expectations, with the Swedes, Danes and Swiss still up there Tomorrow the boys have the Danes (no wins so far) and the Swedes. The girls play a key game against the Hungarians in the morning. A few more words on Aberdeen. A city of grey granite houses with erratic traffic. Nice friendly people, but not understood if they don't watch their pronunciation. For example, the expression "Fit like Dod?" means: How are you? The usual answer in "aberdeen" is something like "Nay Say Bod." Men are Loons and women are Quines. But let's support our teams, the crucial games are coming!rn
