The Chinese finally outplayed us.
In this morning's game we had a problem at the beginning and at the end, and that was enough for China to win. First we let the Asians take a cheap 0 : 2 lead and at the very end we didn't take care to play the second stone into the rings so as not to offer a double, and instead of a split for two the rings remained empty and the zero was enough to see us lose 6 : 7. We were the better team for most of the match and could have gone into an interesting lead at least twice. The loss is disappointing mainly because we had the Chinese. We are trying to recover quickly and concentrate on the evening game against the French. They have been playing most of the tournament with three players, but they look very composed and determined. photo: our warming up, umpire Shaw
