The afternoon program was rather relaxing. After yesterday's load of three games we needed rest. The first match of the Consolation Cup competition was scheduled for 15.30. We took the tram to the hall this time. We received free weekend passes from the hotel. Nine arrived on time and it took ten minutes to get to the hall. The opponent was the French speaking team Tanner from Laussane. I think there will be a connection with the name of Franz Tanner, one of the major curlers involved in the inclusion of curling in the 1998 Olympics program. The beginning found us very sloppy and after four ends we were down 1 to 6. The second half brought the desired upswing in performance and two deuces in a row brought us back into the game. The eighth end was well played, exciting to the last stone, but the Swiss skip threw a great tap back with the last stone to secure her team the win. For us, it means that just like last year, we will not take any success from Bern. Tomorrow morning we will have a good breakfast and head home. Wash up and get ready. In four more days we travel to Glasgow for a better result.
