Czech Republic - Denmark, from 19,00 local time.

photo taken immediately after the win against Denmark. Angelina Jensen is one of the most experienced players on the circuit for many years. She skips arguably the second best Danish women's team at the moment. The first one (M. Dupont) we recently beat, by the way, in the Olympic qualification in Pilsen. We knew it would be tough. The Danes had one win before the game (against Germany) and played very solidly against Canada and the Koreans. We didn't get the advantage of the last stone in practice and in the first two ends we traded 1s with each other. In the third, our luck was not in our favor. After a series of minor inaccuracies, there was a moment I don't think I've ever seen. The opponent had a clear deuce and the three stones were measured to see if they touched the rings. In the end, according to the gauge, two touched slightly and the third not by a whisker. The four really embarrassed us and it took us a while to recover. We pulled it back to 3 : 5 in the next endgames, but then the Danes played a deuce again with a stone that was originally just going to be a knock out of our stone at one. We gave our opponents back another deuce at 5 : 7, but then, in the ninth, the Danes again for one and it was three down going into the tenth with the advantage. That's where it started to turn around. First one of the Danes had a stone taken away for a hog line violation, and then Jensen just licked one of our two stones in the circle and we had a chance for a three and an extra end. The problem was the stone, which was not only Danish, but also the best stone and covered by a perfect guard. The team opted for an angle raise and Anna hit it perfectly. The trio let us go to the extra end, where minor problems with the ice already started, which resulted in our inaccurate come around attempt, which eventually resulted in a split on two better stones, but unfortunately completely uncovered. The end culminated in a draw for Jensen, who chose a track that led her stone only to the top of the rings, where the Danish stone still hit ours. A well earned win after a fighting performance is the reward for a tough match. The girls deserve a restful night with good dreams.
