Czech Republic - Scotland, women. First vs. second match at the World Championship.

coming soon! Coming soon! Kickoff is at 7 p.m. We're just getting started. Advantage Scotland, it's determined by the order after the round robin. We've got two stones in the back of the circles, plus a centre guard. Spence is playing our free stone exchange and she's doing a good job. Eve brazenly coming in on the freeze on the tee line. Scots are playing hit. Back two in the circles and Gray plays hit and roll. Scots have one and we're right behind him. Gray's still coming in behind us. There's still one red. Unfortunately we only go for the freeze to the worse one and Fleming can add a second better red to the circle, and he plays it successfully too. But Iveta counters with a perfect come around. We've got one and Fleming is having a hard time. He finally decides not to even try and gives us one without a fight. After the stones of one, Eva plays a double, but we only take one. Spence plays a roll and the result is pretty ok for the Scots. They have two and we have to try Scotland's best over ours. Eve plays it great and we now have one guard to the left of the center line. The Scots are getting a double and they've got the better of it. We're playing freeze and it's almost working. Scots can tap back with two behind the corner guard. Gray was accurate and we're clanking back to the guard. scotts have two and play behind center guard on the tee. They're getting it right. We try a double to the left, now without the guard. it's not a double, but it's a perfect roll in front of the second red stone. scotts have one and they'll probably try the second one behind center guard because they can't get anything left. Fleming hasn't made a mistake so far. We're going to try to slide one scotch out so it's just a two. We're clinking for guard and the scotch skip will match the three. he's got it easy. The score is 1 : 3. 3. end: After five stones, one Scot on eight and we play Eva corner guard. Scotch shoots it. We don't punish Scottish's mistake of rolling into the corner guard position on the other side - we're long. Gray clears his own and it's a B stone at the five. We play a double at the center line. it almost worked, we just licked the second stone. It's a repeat, Zuzka tries again. This time it's 100%. Iveta can only single stay and after her Fleming does the same. We just need the last chamber to zero, but we try to roll out. Iveta - no mistake. 1 : 3. 4th end: After an opening that's better for the Scots - they have three in the circles and we have a corner guard and now an unwanted center guard, we choose an extremely offensive strategy and sweat it out. Eva corrects her earlier mistake and is on the tee. scotts are thinking. Finally a peel guard. We take a time out, but after that we miss and eventually make the mistake of stopping a foot-driving stone and although the scotch would probably go away Fleming puts it back in play (rightly so!). After a good hit by Gray, the Scots have three in the circle. We freeze a little inaccurately and the Scots play the third better. We have to double with a little roll. Iveta has played it pretty well and now it's up to fleming to play the tee and prevent our hit on two or three. our double on three is there, but it requires decent speed and decent accuracy. the girls measure it. We only hit one and the Scots are down one. We're 1-4. Too bad. 5th end: Brown pitches to the four and to the nine around the center line. We've got the corner guard and we're going behind him. Apparently, we're biting from behind. Spence misses a clearing pass and we've got two behind the corner guard. Spence tries again. After a successful clearing, the Scots have the best, we're second and play another one into the circle. After the Skotek hit, we're still second, but it's not a great situation. Now we're third and still third after the Skotek stone. We play a come around freeze and it works out, except for a detail - we're just off the tee. Fleming's gonna be right behind us. Fleming and Iveta are both longer, so it's the last two stones. We've got one now, but it's behind the tee. scotts have the best, but it's not a freeze. A little tap will make it our two. And that's it. 3 to 4. BREAK.

6th end: We have center guard and stone on nine. Scots have a rock on the edge. After an unwanted Scottish chip, we have two in the circle, the one on nine and on the tee line, but completely on the side. There's a corner guard, but it's wide open. We're still playing third in the circle and the Scots are trying to double. So far, so good. Now it's changing. We're playing one side only. There's two hitters, ours is better. We're playing second to the circle. We're pushing the Scots to one by being on six with our second. There's no double, just an auxiliary roll. Three stones to go. We have to hit stay or we'll get two. We roll sideways and we don't know which one is better. We have to wait. Fleming plays the draw. It's one red, and we're on schedule. We'll try for two in the next end. The score is 3 to 5. 7th end: After a Brown misplay, we don't give a single corner guard and it starts to go in circles. After six stones, there is nothing but nothing in the circles. teams start to scramble for a stone in the back circles and stay takes the roll. Again, there's nothing, nothing at all. So we try a corner guard knot to liven things up. We're back in the circle. I think it's going fast. 14.5 is a four without a throw. We miss one of the take outs and respond to the two scots in the ring with a roll attempt, but it's a stay and we'll probably play the last stone against the two if Fleming gives a stay. She does and we need a stay at one too. Iveta gives it and it's our one. status 4 : 5. 8th end: The strategy of this endgame is somewhat va bank. We have a center guard and the Scot has two in the back circles. We're short with the come around and Spence plays clear. Luckily for us, the guards take one of Scotch with them. One red is in the circle. We're playing center guard. The Scots think about clearing and finally go for it. After our roll out, Gray loses and we bravely continue our attempts at center guard. But the Scots don't play this game with us anymore and play their own - come around. good weight, but it's all visible. We, very roughly, play come around and are on the edge of four feet. Scots are playing angle raise, but their hog line violation is lit!!! What are we gonna do now? The hall is silent, just the noise of the aggregates. But we're losing, unfortunately. Fleming's got the option of a replay. He's giving it, but it's only one. The score is 4 to 6. 9th end: Not a bad play. We've got a corner guard and two Scots in the circles. Eva's playing come around. The weight is ok, but the stone remains all visible. Spence is going for it. Our rock is gone and the situation remains. Zuzka plays her first and everything is still the same. Scottish stones are on six about half a meter apart. Our come round attempt goes through and Gray plays clear. He passes and the nervousness reaches its peak. zuzkam makes a second attempt. finally the draw comes out behind the guard and the scots don't know. Our fans in the stands are singing chants of praise for Zuzuka, but it's premature yet. We haven't played this end yet. Fleming opts for the freeze and she's already going with it. It's not a freeze, but she's got three better ones in the ring. I don't really know what we're playing now. You'll have to wait. A very strange game variation, after which we have a better stone stuck on a worse scotch, but from the opposite side. Fleming plays a hit and needs to stay his in the circle to have two better ones. There are two reds and there is no double. We need to play a draw to one, but we play a hit stay to one. Iveta perfect and we're down by one to the last with no advantage. we try to bring out the best in us. score 5 : 6. 10th end: After two good centre guards of ours and a failed Scottish chip, Brown accidentally helps us with another guard. We'll try a come around. We're gonna pass the ball next. It's thick in front of the circles! spence plays rock of the year. All the yellows are gone and scotch has moved to four feet. Hats off to you, you don't see that right away. We have to repeat the center guards and wait for a mistake. After our unintentional free throw, Gray knocks everything out of play and we just hope the next two tries the Scots make a mistake. The first one they do. Now it's Iveta - guard. We're on two. And the second clear comes out. Iveta plays to the rings and Fleming just needs anything. It's a clear. Zero. Scots in the final and we're looking next door to see who it's going to be tomorrow. Tomorrow we'll face the Swedes in the final of the World Championship. It's 6:00 p.m. Good night.
