CZECH REPUBLIC - USA. The longest measurement I've ever seen.

We had the afternoon off. After breakfast we relaxed some more and then our steady schedule included a team meeting, a short card game to wake up the brain, warm up and training. The American girls were almost perfect on LSD, so we started with no advantage. A double in the third end gave us a two point lead and after seven ends we were up by three points and had the advantage. Decent starting position. In the eighth end we failed double clearing and the whole end ended with two draw skips, which were then measured by umpire Gwen Krailo, a small likeable American. She went around the circle once, twice, she said red, then a third time, she said yellow. For the fourth time she called Dave Petursson, the head umpire, and after three more laps he said the stones were the same distance from the center and therefore it was a blank, or zero. The perfect scenario for us. In the next endgame, thanks to a great draw by Anna, we played for one and four up we started sawing our opponent's stones in the tenth. Shortly after the mid-end, the American hand was passed and it was over. Nice win. We're about to face the home team in a TV duel.rn
