photo - pre-match arrival
rnEvening matches usually start at 9.00. Warm-up, breakfast, departure to the hall at 7.30, a short meeting and then a pre-match training session from which the advantage for the first end will come. The Scots are better and in the first end they will push us and score a three. That sets the tone for the first half. We counter with a nice deuce, but then we get it back. The fourth end is the key. After a very good game and some excellent stones, we fail to play a precise roll with the first skip stone and it's just a preparation for the final blow. The Scots take a long queue and end up playing guard. Leaving us with a double on four. Unfortunately, we stay this time, so it's one for the opponent. We reduce, but then we get a deuce again and the Scots play easier stones than we do. Despite our best efforts, we can't turn the game around. Tonight we will face the Swedes.
