Quarterfinals against the European champions.
On the night from Saturday to Sunday I received a message from the organizers that after adding up all the results we were in fourth place in the overall standings after the regular part. The system assigned us to the Danish national team, the current European champions, for the quarterfinals. The Dupont sisters are our traditional opponents, with whom we have a slightly worse record. We've beaten them a couple of times, but we've definitely had more losses against them. Madeleine already has a number of medals from world championships and is a constant on the European and world scene. We pinned our opponents down a lot in the first end and it was only with luck that the Danes fought off a three and maybe even a four. After a cashed one we played a two, but then we made a mistake and got a three. After six ends we were level, got two in the seventh and couldn't score in the eighth. So the Danes, Italians, Swiss and Swedes advanced to the semifinals of the tournament. The Basel Masters 2023 was a well-attended tournament. Olympic and world champions, medalists, World Championships participants. The winners were the phenomenal Swiss (Tirinzoni) who beat the Swedes (Hasselborg) in the final. A wonderfully organized tournament, where we will be happy to return. Anna, Mischa, Aneta, Klara and Karolina did a very good job. Thanks to all the supporters and partners of the team.
