Curling season is in full swing.

With the World Junior Championships and the Scotties (Canadian Women's Championships) now over, there is once again plenty to enjoy. The 2019 Brandon Briers, the Men's Canadian Championships, are being played in the same dates, and the Winter Universiade is taking place in Krasnoyarsk, where we have both men's and women's teams. While we have delayed matches of the star teams (Jacobs, Gushue, Koe, Cotter and others) available on You Tube from Canada, we are left to the off-prime time coverage from Russia by Czech TV. The Czech women's team with skip Alžbeta Baudyšová has had a dream start to the tournament with wins over the excellent Swedes and then the Italians. The men (skip Vedral) lost to the Swedes. In the Czech women's team, besides the older of the Baudyšová sisters, Alžbeta, there is also the younger Michaela, another Czech representative from the women's category Ezhen Kolčevská and Lenka Hronová together with Eliška Srnská. So we have a week ahead of us to watch the Canadian men at Briers and cheer on the Czech women and men at WUG 2019.
