For the third time in history, the Czech national team will participate in the Women's World Curling Championships. Anna Kubešková, Tereza Plíšková, Veronika Herdová, Eliška Jalovcová and Luisa Illková will defend the red and white colours in Esbjerg, Denmark. The expedition took an early morning flight and was already looking for an affordable restaurant before 12 o'clock. It's likely to be expensive for us here - quite a bump after Scotland. We met up with Milan Korbel, who works as a member of the timekeeping corps here, and who was very helpful by taking our bag of curling stuff in the car. While visiting the arena, we enjoyed the nicely prepared ice and the helpfulness of the organizers. Only the weather could have been warmer. For me personally, this is a return to the place where I played my second curling tournament in my life (under the guidance of skip Jan Letal), and as I pedaled down Vardeva towards the sports complex, some memories came back. The housing is fine, most of the teams are already here and the concentration of curling celebrities is thickening: Lindholm, Swartling, R. Martin, Norberg, Ott, Muirhead, etc. We look forward to it and feel respect.
