Respekt magazine, namely Ondřej Kundra, hosted a debate between President Petr Pavel and invited visitors at the DOX club in Prague's Holešovice. The main topic was Ukraine, which was evident from the print of the T-shirts of the assistants moving among the audience in the second part of the meeting. The setting and the arrangement of the stage was pleasant, with a simple table with two drinks and two light mustard-coloured chairs. At exactly 7pm, the moderator welcomed the President of the Republic and began the first part, in which he asked questions himself. The introduction revolved around the death of Alexei Navalny, Russia, the upcoming US presidential election and Ukraine. The President's answers did not deny his good knowledge of the military and military issues in general. Peter Paul devoted a relatively broad discussion to the obvious difficulties associated with the formation of military reserves. The analysis of the possibilities of increasing the attractiveness of military service for the young generation with an emphasis on acquiring skills in the field of fitness, technology and IT was insightful and committed. The first hour of the meeting still included several times emphasizing the need to "go the extra mile" in dealing with some challenging tasks and reiterating that when a Ukrainian commits a crime, it is important to remember that we also commit such acts. The last third of the time was devoted to questions from the audience, where the activity was more from the younger visitors. The answer to the question aimed at finding and describing ways to deal with hybrid forms of conflict management, disinformation campaigns and attacks conducted through communication channels in the form of social networks took quite a lot of time. So, too, did the question in Slovak about how to deal with countries (such as Hungary or Slovakia) that visibly deviate from the generally respected principles of the European Union. After 90 minutes, the meeting with the Head of State ends with applause and the President quickly bows and leaves. Petr Pavel and his team have chosen well-dressed afternoon suits with a shawl. Ondřej Kundra could have been better, but he basically managed his role and did not mess up anything important.
