First world championship for Czech women's curling, first match out of eleven, and the first win, 11-1 against the Italians! Let's hope that number one will bring us luck! The ceremonial entrance together with the usual speeches by the organisers and WCF President Les Harrison kicked off the championship. The first stone was sent to the rings by Anette Norberg, swept by the members of the Japanese team and the skip was 1998 Olympic champion Patrick Hurlimann for this festive moment. In the twelve teams we find 10 world champions and a number of medalists. So good game and good luck to the Czech team!
