Russians are already part of the folklore of world championships. We know the team led by skip Sidorova very well and therefore we had the appropriate respect. Our opponents outplayed us at first, they were more accurate and their game more effective, but a three-pointer in the seventh end at 1 : 5 brought us back into the match. The girls didn't let the chance that came with it go and at the end, thanks to a short draw by the Russian, we could enjoy another win. The third one. The men are waiting for a win. Team USA is usually a good team at the World Championships, so it was obvious that nothing easy awaited us. First we politely exchanged deuces, but then the Americans, first with an accurate roll and then with a very close stay, played a three on us and from then on it was downhill from there. We couldn't deny the Czechs' effort and hard work, but we couldn't get the pressure on, so our opponent added a four in the seventh end and then we ended the match. The USA was better and showed precise defending in the end. They deserved the win. The boys have one of the key matches tomorrow morning against the Finns. The evening women's game against the Scots had a score of 2-3 at the halfway point, but we got out of some situations at the cost of a lot of risk. The Scots applied constant pressure and it bore fruit in the sixth and seventh end, when, partly thanks to our mistakes but also to good production, our opponent pulled away to a difference of six. We gave up and before the evening practice we watched the surprising win of the Italians over the Swiss. Tomorrow at noon our women play the Swedes. Photos by Honza and Petra
