rnWe put a lot of effort into the pre-match preparation. After yesterday's unsuccessful game we felt the need to mobilize again. We opted for two new finesse moves to help us get into a good operating temperature. The start of the match against Finland (Kauste) was very dominant on our side and we went into the break with a respectable score of 8 : 0. After the break, the Finns gradually created a good situation and Kauste played a beautiful double on deuce. Then the opponent still played for one when we had the advantage, but in truth it was pretty controlled from us. Our deuce in the eighth decided the game for sure. The Finns still played another end, but only to finish the championship with a good stone, which was a final draw for one to make the score 10 : 4 for us. We on the coaches' bench were keeping an eye on the development of the match on the c, where we needed a win from the Latvians to keep the A. In the eighth, the Latvians scored a four and the Italians never recovered. So we have Group A for next year and a World Cup qualifier for the Czech Republic. The development of the tournament has exhausted us mentally and we will need good food and a good night's sleep. Thanks a lot to the girls, Anna, Terka, Bětka, Ežen and Eliška, they did something for Czech curling again. And also to Eva Králové (physio) for taking care of us. And we are looking forward to going home!!
