After three games, both of our teams have the same score. One win and two losses. First, the women lost to the Swedes. Swedish coach Fredrik Hallstroem told me that after a quick lead, it was easy for the northerners to hold on. In the first game on Sunday, the Norwegians won against the Czechs and Ulsrud did not hide his joy. In the second men's draw on Sunday, Jiri Snitil's team played the Norwegians' overcomers from the first match, the Latvians. The 11 : 9 win is valuable and should give the team confidence. The only team without a win among the men is Italy (Retornaz). The women had a promising match with the Swiss (Feltcher), but unfortunately the ending went better for the Swiss. The evening duel had an unusual start affected by water dripping from the roof or ceiling directly onto the track where the Czechs started their training. After a break lasting about 25 minutes, the Scots had a practice session, followed by another short warm up by the Czechs. The Muirhead team won 10 to 6 in this about half an hour late match.
rnThe Moscow championship was accompanied by some difficulties, such as the aforementioned water dripping or about ten non-functioning handrails for which there were no replacement batteries in time, as well as a last-minute change in the accreditation system and generally a bit of a communication problem with the organisers.
rnI haven't seen much of it yet - meeting follows meeting. Hopefully tomorrow night, Czech Republic - Scotland and Czechs - Latvians.
rnThe hotel is nice and looks clean. It's just that when you go out on the street, you have to expect not to be smiled at, but rather to be bumped into or passed in the queue for the cloakroom.
rnLet's keep our fingers crossed! One win per team is fine for now, but we need more!!
