Twice the nerves and twice the win.

In the afternoon game the Swiss played against the Czechs. The game was broken in the sixth end when the Czechs scored a four and everything looked very promising at that moment. However, Karnusian's team came back into the game and forced overtime. A near infarct ending was brought about by Martin Snitil's final draw in the extra end, which ended up being narrowly (by measurement) better than the Swiss stone. This win puts us in a tie for fifth place, and with our next opponent being the Spanish team, we are even on course for the semi-finals!! Katerina Urbanova's team played against the Italian team in the early evening (although it is still early evening here). The match was very even until the seventh end. In the eighth end Diana Gaspari chose an almost incomprehensible take out in a situation when her teammates had not played accurately before. After an inaccurate execution, the Czechs played a four and went into the last two ends with a five-point lead. The defensively led ninth end worked only partially, we got a deuce. In the end came an unexpected drama. After a few mistakes, Gaspari could have had a decently covered three in the rings before our last stone, but she made a mistake herself, so Kačka didn't have to play the final, probably difficult, stone. Not only the joy of the win, but also the awakened hope for a good result in the whole championship should be an inspiration for all who support Czech curling.
