In the morning round the Czech national B team lost to the Scottish team Henderson, only to recover in the afternoon against the strong and experienced Swedish team Wrana. In an interesting ending, the Czechs took advantage of a big mistake of their opponent and after a balanced game won the last end in their favour. National team A defeated the young Swiss (Arnold - Heinimann) 9 : 2. Evening round played after a short break, in which we managed to have a good dinner, contained a duel between our team and the team skipped by Xenia Schwaller, which has been playing well on the circuit for a long time. Both teams were in a tug of war until the very end. The Czechs went into the last end with a one-down advantage. The Swiss girls showed an excellent game and showed the strength of the two newly installed rules, namely no-tick and five stones in the FGZ. The last stone played by Betka still had the potential to return the same coin to the Swiss in the eventual extra end, but still one yellow stone remained as the better stone. The loss is disappointing, but the performance shows promise for the tournament going forward.
