Doubleheader to start.

The first course was prepared by the Italian team with skip Constantini. Starting at 9:00. Everything's a little different about this year's championships. There are no changing rooms, so we're just changing our shoes, but otherwise we arrive already dressed in our sportswear. We sit down at a marked table with a couple of chairs in an open area. I write my routine on my tablet, but I have to use a special sanitized stylus. The coaches of the opposing teams sit on different sides behind the scoreboards, and even here the number of chairs is limited. To two, for one coach and a fifth player. With the Italians, we get the last stone advantage thanks to better attempts in pre-match training. In the match we are a little better than our opponents, although we struggle a bit with ice and stones. The conditions are quite different from the ones we know from Prague. We keep the lead throughout the game and finally get our first win at this championship. In the evening we have the Canadian team on the schedule, who lost narrowly to the Swedes in the afternoon. TSN is putting on a nice graphic trailer and curling fans can watch the Canada vs. Czech Republic duel live with commentary from Russ Howard, Sheryl Bernard and Vic Rauters. We run into trouble in the second end. Keri Einarson knocks out our best stone with a lucky shot, but it's still a three against us. We counter with only one. The Canadians are more accurate and they're converting the chances that come their way. Let's end the game early because the deficit is too big. After today, it's one-one. Tomorrow we have the Estonians at 14.00.
