The "Canadian Afternoon," a doubleheader with Canada, began at 2 p.m. Women. In the first part, our opponent rebounded a little bit, up to 4 : 1 and later to 6 : 3. In the ninth end, the Czechs (Kamila Mosova came in from the middle) put pressure, which eventually turned out to be a three, and only because the take out on four was not perfect. Overall, there were slightly more inaccurate stones in the match than in the previous two, but even the Canadian team, led by skip Brooklyn Lemon, was far from flawless. A nervy tenth end (6 : 6, no advantage) ultimately decided the Maple Leaf win, as we threw our last draw with 30 seconds left on the clock (the Canadians had about a minute and a half) and were no better. The men are coming up in an hour and a half, so hopefully they can get a rematch for the women. photo: hall
