Estonian and Lithuanian.

We don't really like matches that start at 8am. First of all, because it means setting the alarm for about six o'clock and after the morning hygiene to be at breakfast at six thirty so that we can be in the hall at seven thirty at the latest and have time to warm up and prepare for the match. Our first opponent was the home team Estonia. The good thing is that the Tallinn Challenger is played on thinking time, so the individual rounds are not delayed, and if they do happen, it's only by a small margin and can be easily made up. An early morning match pitted the Estonians (Turman) against us, for whom Tondiraba Jäähall is the home court. We narrowly missed the last stone advantage going into the first end, but managed to play one without an advantage about halfway through the game and then added a three as we headed for a comfortable win. After reviewing the progress of the match, we chose a Thai restaurant to replenish our energy and took a short rest after an excellent lunch. In the afternoon, we were waiting for the Lithuanians (Paulauskaite), who have surprised the curling world in recent years with some unexpectedly good results at major championships. They have rejuvenated a bit, but still belong to the wider European top. We were more successful in the pre-match training and after an even first half, we added a bit of pressure and the result was a lead which we confirmed with a four in the seventh end. That marked the early end of the match. Considering that we don't play until shortly after noon tomorrow, we have a few hours of complete free time ahead of us. And we're going to dedicate that to total rest.
