Estonians and Germans.

The men had the Germans on the schedule this afternoon, the familiar Andy Kapp team, but this time without stalwarts Uli Kapp and Andreas Lang. After eight ends it looked like a decided match (6 : 2 for the Germans), but after a beautiful roll by the Czechs behind the corner guard, a three was played and the match was still open. But in the last end Andreas Kempf played a great chip and Holger Hohne a precise double clear. So the win didn't come, but the upswing in the ninth end is a promise before tomorrow's duel with Scotland (Hammy McMillan). Hammy miraculously turned the tide against Russia today and has his first win. The women played their match against Estonia with confidence and ease. We narrowly missed a three in the fifth end and instead only registered a one. The sixth end (with our time-out under the new rules) belonged to the opponent, who tied the game at 4 : 4. Then we were two up, the opponent was one up and in the next end even two up with our advantage (two of our stones hit the dirt). The tenth end to the middle did not look like we could score for two, but in the end we did not even have to throw the last stone and the two we played meant our fourth win in the standings. Next to us, the Hungarians lost to the Austrians.
