Ga-Pa failed this time

The Aritma men's team took part in the summer tournament in Garmish-Partenkirchen, and as usual, with ambitions for the top places. As every year, the accompanying events were generously stocked with food, especially meat. The ice was average, but very respectable for the summer months, variable humidity and changing temperatures. The first game was fairly uneventful, a confident win over the Swiss. The second game was disappointing, after an average game we succumbed to a relatively weak opponent late in the game as we could not cope with the speed of the ice. We didn't have the forechecking, but we didn't have the finishing either. As it turned out later, the cardinal problem was gaining only two ends. The third game against the German junior national team brought an unnecessary loss after no one from Aritma could play to their potential. A power surge in the last match did bring a significant win with eight ends played, but it was just not enough to advance to the top 20. Netušil, Lubina, Létal and Kubeska finished in the worst place of all the entries so far this year, and on top of that Netušil left with sciatica. On the other hand, the Icebreaker team shone and came in an excellent third place. The victory belongs to the Hungarians.
