Saturday night catered for with a horse show, dancers and a dulcimer band. The beautiful setting a few kilometres outside Budapest set the scene for WCF President Kate Caithness' birthday. Excellent food and well managed organisation accompanied virtually the whole congress. Conversations continued to revolve around mixed doubles and a possible vote to change the championship format. The general development of curling, the uptake of the support given by the WCF to member countries and the hilarious presentation by the Norwegians who have built a curling hall in conjunction with a pistol range were all important topics. The enthusiasm of the Brazilians who are building a new hall, the information that about 2 million people play curling in Canada and the humility of the Estonians preparing the European Championships were a pleasant spice to the stay. Many people appreciated the successful candidacy of Anna (Kubeskova) for the Athletics Commission and some even asked about the new hall in Prague. I don't know how news travels from place to place, but in any case I was happy to answer. Tomorrow is the Annual General Meeting where everything will be voted on.
