SJC Game Day 2.

A relatively long day, culminating in a game against the Canadian team Auld. However, we easily found a programme in the form of watching the games live at the Cornwall Curling Club. First we got the full end of the Howard - Gushue duel and then an encore of Bottcher - Gunnlaugson. But not to make it look like we're only watching the men, for the sake of completeness it should be added that from the women's top teams there are Jones, Homan, the previously mentioned Tirinzoni, Muirhead, last year's champion Wrana and also Hasselborg and Yoshimura. The starting field has no weaknesses and every win is very valuable. With this in mind, we went into the evening match and after half time we were comfortably leading 4-1. However, our opponent worked hard, tightened up and even pulled the lead to their side before the last end. An accurate come around by Bety and then another by Anna forced the Canadian skip to try a hard runback double. However, Auld didn't play the stone and we didn't have to throw the last try. The win is great, but we still need to improve some elements of the game. Tomorrow morning we have the Crow. Tickets to the club are not exactly cheap (photo), yet it's still packed and all the seats are taken.
