The Swedish team Wrana is last year's champion and was waiting for us as the last opponent in our group. We know each other quite well, we have played together several times, but the recent record is not very favorable. We gained an advantage but came under pressure in the first end and a draw against the number two meant one for the Swedes. In the next end we equalised, but in the third we went into a heavier deficit, namely by three. Hope dawned in the fourth when our opponent offered us a double on four stones in the ring, but we declined, played one and in the next end, after a dramatic run, our one again. By the last end we were two down, with no advantage, but we only played one and it wasn't enough to win. On the top, besides us, there were also Hasselborg, Japanese teams, Scottish Jackson and Sinclair from the USA. The Shorty Jenkins Classic is probably the best-attended tournament we have ever played. Not only the actual matches, but also watching the world's best teams in action - men's teams included - is a great inspiration, lesson and incentive to keep going.
