rnA very early game against the Latvians set the Czechs' alarm clocks for 5.30am. There are seven women's teams in the women's competition for the two spots at the Korea Olympics, with the exception of China, the only European teams. Anna, Bětka, Terka, Klára and Ežen were really hungry for a win after yesterday's close loss to China. The Czechs were better from the beginning and guarded the development with the popular system: I score two and you score only one. Only at 8 : 3 did they allow the Latvians to play a deuce, but they went into the last, tenth, end with a four-point lead. A flawless defensive effort at the end brought the Czech women their first win of the tournament. Now we have a lunch break and in the afternoon we are going to take on the Germans, who lost their match against the Danes.
