rnWith Petr Slavik at number one, we entered the match against Norway (Davanger), which, if we won, could still theoretically send us to the tie-break for the play-offs. We didn't get the advantage of the last stone and we cashed in the first end. The next end was a blank, but then we got one against and then another. By the second half it was zero-three. In the fifth we scored for two, but the Norwegians returned a deuce and then added a deuce. There was no point in continuing in that situation. Meanwhile, on the other side of the court, the Japanese team was getting loaded by the Germans. And that was the end of our group's history. The Swedes, the Danes and the Germans are through. I'd be very surprised if there weren't future medalists among them. We played some nice games, we made a number of beautiful stones, but we also made mistakes that prevented us from winning some of the important games. A quality tournament on very good competition ice with a speed of around 14.7 sec, a swing of around six feet and a dramatic finish is always a pleasure to play. We would have loved to be in the superstructure, but it was beyond us. Thanks to Matej, Richard, Honza and Petra for your efforts and team spirit. The Czech women did not disappoint, even though they failed to advance. All they needed was a better finish in a well played game against America and at least a tie-break for the playoffs would have been there. Slávka, Veronika, Michala and Irena have three wins and three losses. Now we'll focus on the Czech mixed doubles team's journey to the 2018 Olympics. Good luck!
