It's over. The World Curling Championships are over for this season.

The senior category ended with the Swedes beating Canada and the Canadians beating the Swiss. But our eyes were on the duel between the Czechs and the Chinese for the bronze medals. After an even start, the Chinese slowly began to gain the upper hand and gradually got to 5 : 2 after six ends and 6 : 2 after seven. It just wasn't happening anymore. Our team gave a brave performance, but China was better. So, an unpopular fourth place. A great success in my eyes. This year we belong to the absolute top of the world in mixed doubles and we need to nurture this category to keep belonging to the top for the next four years. The gold medal match had a shocking ending, where Canada was up by three, but the Carruthers, Courtney pair offered the Swiss an unnecessarily ambitious throw in the last end, which was successful. And the gold was gone. Arguably the best team at this World Championships just stared in disbelief, but there was nothing to be done. The Swiss are still one of only three countries to have won the mixed doubles World Championships.
