Our men concluded their participation in this year's European Championships with a winning match against Denmark. Martin Jurík, the debutant of Group A in the national jersey, also played his second match. Thanks to a powerful finish in the form of two consecutive wins, the men ended the tournament in seventh place, which can be described as an achievement without exaggeration. The women still have two more days of play. This morning's game against the Slovak women ended early, the Czech women's lead was too big (13-1). The Slovaks were a bit unlucky, because one of their players got injured during the tournament and could not play a few games. The Slovaks (skip Silvia Sýkorová) got three wins in total, but even that is not enough to stay in Group B, and they will have to start from Group C next season. The Czech national team (skip Zelingrová, formerly Baudyšová) will meet the Slovenes in the semi-finals on Friday evening from 7pm, who got the necessary triple to win their duel against the English with a final double take-out. That moved them into fourth place and thus into the play-offs. The other semi-final will be a derby between the Baltic republics - Estonia and Lithuania. Some of the women's team, along with the coach, took advantage of some time off in the afternoon and headed to the women's semifinals in the A's hall. There was a demolition of the Scottish curlers. This was set up by the Danes, who had played superbly throughout the Round Robin, and now confirmed their quality. Earlier, the Swiss won against the Italians, so the final will be Denmark-Switzerland. The men (Italy, Scotland, Sweden, Switzerland) are yet to play their semi-finals.
