The Czech team participating in the World Junior Championships in Sweden has arrived at the venue. The overnight arrival in Ostersund, after a stopover in Stockholm, was uneventful. All players are fine, but Michal reports minor health problems, probably the result of a fall on skis. The accommodation is of a good standard, the breakfast is varied, the staff is friendly and helpful. The town shows a reasonable level of boredom and drabness, with snow on the streets and sub-zero temperatures. We looked at the hall in which the games will be played. Leif Ohman, the main icemaker, surprised us with the green and blue combination of the goal rings, otherwise the local hockey hall seems to be a worthy stand for the World Cup. We devoted ourselves to the table version of curling, inviting WCF President Les Harrison to inspect the stadium. We ended the day with a nice dinner, some at Subway others in our room with delicious sushi. Tomorrow we will have a training session, unofficial for now, and after that we will start the concrete preparations for the championship.
