Not too long after the summer camp that Anna, Terka, Klara, Betty and Ezhen attended in Nymburk, and just a few days after the two weekends they spent in the Roztyl hall, the full lineup of the Sokola Liboc 3 (team kubeskova) started their essentially second Canadian tour. The first one was in 2014 and was related to the 2014 Women's World Curling Championships in Saint John, where the Czech women (then still with Veronika Herdova) placed ninth. Then we visited Montreal, and there we had training sessions at our home club Saint Lambert, played an exhibition match with the senior champions of Canada and cooperated with Le GYM. As part of that tour this year, we have a WCT tournament scheduled for us starting tomorrow at noon local time. After this weekend, we will practice and then play one more tournament at a local eight-lane track. A tour of the hall yesterday took us to a very nice looking area of Toronto. Lots of flowers, greenery, wide streets lined with houses and of course the curling hall. A purpose built, sporty building with a dominant portal, spacious lobby, looking cozy and friendly. A smiling Michelle in the office, writing up our practice for Thursday, and lots of Scots all around, who will be playing the men's branch of the tournament. We still go to the local UFC Fitness in the evening and, in addition to our own workout, watch the Muay Thai and BJJ (Brazilian Jiu Jitsu) techniques of the amateurs being trained by local coaches.
