End of the 2021 European Championship.

The Czech team's participation in this year's European Curling Championships is over. First, the women lost to the Germans in this morning's round. They closed the tournament with a record of two wins and seven defeats. The Danes have the same ratio, but because of the Danish win in the return match, the Czech women are classified lower and will play in Group B next year. At noon, the men took on the Swedes. A possible win could, along with other factors, even push our team into the playoffs. However, the paper assumptions came true and the northerners built up a significant lead quite quickly. The Czechs now have four wins and five losses and a seventh place finish. This not only secures Group A for 2022, but also direct qualification to the 2022 World Championship (USA). After several barren years, this is a great success for Czech men's curling. The women will still fight for the World Championships in an additional qualifier played in January next year. The men's teams of Scotland, Sweden, Italy and Norway have advanced to the semi-finals. Among the women, the Scots, Russians, Swedes and Germans succeeded. The women's semi-finals were played on Thursday. The Scots and Swedes, who won their matches, will play for the gold, while the Russians (who lost to the Swedes) and the Germans, who fell short to the Scots, will play for the bronze.
