The coach wasn't allowed to practice. Afternoon round with Austria.

Jirka was unlucky or the Swedish umpire just doesn't like him. After one slip up at the evening practice he had to leave the ice with the reasoning that at least one player would have to be at the practice for the coach to be able to take the face off. Everything was explained in the morning, but the apology didn't change Jirka's last night. We played against Austria at 14.30. We played the first end very accurately and took advantage of the mistakes of the opponent, who struggled a bit with the fact that the track had two different halves. The four was fine until the start and we kept the scoreline within striking distance until the break. After the break, we even scored a five and everything looked clear. In the sixth end I made a mistake with a shorter stone and gave the Austrians a chance. In the end, we got away with only a received deuce and continued to lead by five. The seventh end wouldn't have been a problem if we hadn't moved the opponent's stone into the rings for the final three against on the last take-out. The last end and a lead of two. We stopped being defensive and conserved the situation a bit and it paid off. Annie didn't have to play the last stone anymore. An important win from our perspective. The weather's still not great, so there are very few to none of those summer dressed girls. Wales tonight from nine - a bit erratic. Thanks to Vasek Porta for his insights from the last championship! And of course to everyone who writes in.
