The Czech Republic's women's curling champion, Sokol Liboc team defended its position and won the national qualification. The team, led by skip Anna Kubešková, won the final two matches against the Savona team and will defend the Czech colours at the European Championships in November. In the men's event, the Kolibris team (skip David Šik) won the event, beating the current champions from Brno. Both Czech teams will be looking to qualify for the World Championships at the European Championships and put themselves in a good position to participate in the 2018 Olympic Games. The teams have just one month to prepare. The women's team consists of Anna Kubešková, Alžběta Baudyšová, Tereza Plíšková, Klara Svatoňová and Ežen Kolčevská. The coach is Karel Kubeska. The Kolibris team has its stalwarts in the players D. Šik, R. Boháč, E. Šik and T. Paul.
