Today is dedicated to exploring the natural beauty of New Zealand. The destination is the Milford Sound area, which runs from Queenstown to the Tasman Sea. On the recommendation of local experts, we have chosen non-traditional means of transport to get to and around the area. A helicopter catered for the start with pilot Bob even stopping with us on a snow platform at about 2000 metres above sea level. The views that were offered were hard to believe, as they really bordered on kitsch in places. What followed was a two-hour cruise towards the Tasman Sea filled with waterfalls over 100 metres high, penguins, seals and other unusual things. We fly back to Queenstown in a seven-seater plane, the pilot hungry for a shortcut between mountain peaks at about 1800 metres en route. We land safely back in Queenstown in the afternoon and welcome contact with solid ground. It is also nice to discover that the local newspaper does indeed publish an interview with Czech curlers, including a nice photo. Tomorrow is already the opening ceremony of the games.
