We're in the quarterfinals!
Saturday's demanding schedule included three matches, two of which featured Ejen at No. 1. The most interesting was the very first one against the Barbezat team. After a few inaccuracies, we found ourselves in a four-point deficit and wondering if we should even play the last end anymore. We finished off a precisely played end with a beautiful split on four and went into the extra end. Our opponent had to put his hands back down. However, Barbezat's final draw was about three inches better than ours, and so the win was theirs anyway. We had to win the last game to get into the quarter finals. Mathis played very well and virtually error free, so it was only our marked improvement and pressure in the last end without advantage that brought a narrow win and progression. I think this is only the second time that the Czech women's team has made it to the CCT. The opponent tomorrow will be Sidorova.
