Nationals 2024/2025.

On Thursday, 27 February, the Czech Republic Men's and Women's Curling Championships opened with evening matches. The title in the women's category defended by the team Liboce 3 - Kubešková. In the men's division it was the team of Zbraslav - Klíma. After the experience from the previous years, when technical conditions were often a problem, especially ice and stones, this year significantly more attention was paid to this aspect. And the effect came. Good and careful preparation together with the engagement of an external specialist resulted in a quality competition ice, which in combination with professionally treated stones offered the participants a swing at the level of six feet with a visible finish, plus a relatively constant speed of about 14.7 seconds (hog - hog). This obviously suited the champion men's team, which passed the tournament without hesitation and without a single loss could celebrate another title. The line-up of Lukáš Klíma (skip), Marek Černovský, Martin Jurík, Lukáš Klípa and Radek Boháč (5) gained the necessary confidence for the upcoming World Championships, where the men will strive for direct qualification to the Winter Olympics. Liboce's women had a bit more to worry about. After three losses in the regular season, they had to prove their quality in the semifinal match against the young Kolibris players. However, the final duels against the Savona H team (skip Synackova) proved the good form of the winners and the team playing with Alžběta Zelingrová, Michaela Baudyšová, Anna Kubešková (skip, second stones), Aneta Müllernova and Karolína Špundová reached the jubilee tenth title in a row thanks to two matches won. The final matches were broadcasted by Czech Television on the channel CT sport plus and simultaneously it was possible to watch the broadcast from the Roztyl hall on Youtube. Several dozens of spectators cheered directly at the club and the announcement of the winners, which took place right after the last stones were stopped, was accompanied by enthusiastic ovations and well-deserved applause. Thanks to all those who contributed to the successful running of this year's National Championships.
